Glynn Middle School was one of two new middle schools built by the Glynn County School District that opened in 2009. Like its sister school Jane Macon Middle, the Lanier Boulevard campuses’ three buildings are connected by bridging corridors, which create four distinct outdoor courtyard areas. As a result, each classroom has a courtyard view and connection to the outdoors.

The construction is load-bearing masonry with full-height brick veneer, precast, and EIFS with load bearing masonry corridor walls. The roof system over the 2 two-story classroom wings is asphalt shingle over vented deck on bar joists. A low-slope modified bituminous roof over bar joists and metal deck covers the gymnasium and cafeteria building.
