As the construction industry evolves, owners, architects and contractors are becoming increasingly aware of the roll and impact that design and construction has on the environment. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has become the leader in environmentally-conscious construction methods which minimize the long term effects that building construction has on our world. The USGBC emphasizes the design and construction of sustainable buildings which, through their location, orientation, design and construction, are energy and cost-efficient, friendly to the environment, and offer a pleasant working environment for their users and occupants. These efforts can lead to measurable increases in end-user performance and well being.

Perry-McCall came from humble beginnings with executives that have always been involved in their community and their environment. They are avid outdoorsmen and lovers of nature who believe in preserving the environment for future generations. Through their experience and affinity for the outdoors they have made a commitment to the education of their employees regarding the importance of sustainable design and construction. Perry-McCall has always believed in hard work and the importance of being leaders in the construction industry, which is why we felt it was critical to become a leader in sustainability and establish our commitment to the USGBC.

It is evident that most contractors believe that it is up to the architectural and/or engineering teams to design buildings that are energy-efficient so they can pass their responsibilities on to the subcontractors. This is where Perry-McCall differentiates itself from other contractors. We believe in researching ways to achieve a sustainable project through investigating new and existing materials, energy efficient products and systems, and by locating sources of sustainable materials and systems.

We track and report performance specifications, reduce runoff, minimize site disturbances, recycle construction debris, protects HVAC systems, and implements numerous other environmentally-friendly and energy-saving techniques into every project we build, regardless of whether the owner is interested in sustainability or not. We believe this is simply the right thing to do in order to preserve the environment and communities in which we all live, work and play.
